Pyrography Is Not Just Burning Lines Into Wood.

It’s patience, control and a little bit of magic.

When I first picked up a burner, I wasn’t thinking about perfect results. I was drawn to the smell of warm wood, the quiet focus of a slow stroke and the way a design appears, one shade at a time.

Maybe you feel the same. You see enchanted woodburned pieces online and think, I’d love to make that. Then the questions start. Which wood should you buy? Which tip do you use? Why do your lines come out patchy, or your shading turn blotchy and too dark? You want to create pieces you’re proud of, but you’re not sure where to start or how to avoid ruining a good blank.

Here’s the truth. You don’t need years of trial and error like I had. With the right method, you can learn to control your burner and build a design step by step, with confidence.

In Introduction to Pyrography: The Art of Enchanted Woodburning, I’ll guide you from choosing and prepping your wood to line work, shading and texture, and then through a complete witchy wall sign, start to finish.

Because pyrography isn’t only about the finished piece. It’s about slowing down and watching your ideas come to life in wood.

Hi, I’m Chantal.

I’m a pyrography artist based in Leeds, England, and my work is inspired by the natural world, witchcraft and my love of all things spooky.

I started ShinyCraft in 2013 painting glassware, but I soon went looking for a new craft. A few woodburning posts on social media later, I picked up my first burner, and I’ve been hooked for over nine years.

I taught myself largely through trial and error, and today more than 40,000 people follow my work on Instagram. I get asked a lot of the same questions, from which wood to use and where to find it, to prepping a blank and keeping your tips clean, so I’ve put every answer in one place.

In this course, I’ll share the process I use for my own pieces, from a blank slice of wood all the way to a sealed, finished artwork. I can’t wait to show you what’s possible.

Stop Guessing and Start Burning With Confidence.

Imagine choosing and prepping your wood with confidence, so every burn comes out clean instead of patchy or scorched.

Imagine balancing heat, speed and pressure to create smooth lines, soft shading and rich texture.

Imagine hanging a witchy wall sign you burned yourself, with your own original designs on the way.

Without a clear method, it’s easy to waste good wood, scorch a design you spent hours transferring, or give up on a craft you were excited to try. Many beginners buy the wrong burner, fight with wood that resists every stroke and decide they’re just not artistic enough. I’ve been there, and that’s exactly why I created this course.

Introduction to Pyrography takes you through a complete, step-by-step process, so every burn builds your skill instead of your frustration.

By the end, you’ll have a finished witchy wall sign, a library of motifs for your own designs, and a relaxing craft you can return to whenever you need a little magic.

Let’s begin this journey together and turn your creative spark into something you can hold.
